Although I did not come close to the extreme hours of the young trainees at these law firms, my early twenties involved some long hours and lots of adrenalin doing big deals.
As time passed, I found the emotional energy I committed to ‘pushing these deals over the line’ had taken a toll. I wanted to rethink my motivation in life.
I recall a moment in 1994 when I decided I was going to enjoy the journey. That’s when my business took off and, looking back, I created a ‘fly on the wall’ or NLP ‘meta position’ to my company. That probably was the start of my path towards NLP and executive coaching.
