A few weekends ago I finished teaching my 10th year of Practitioner training and was reminded why I started NLP School.  I remember hearing the phrase on my own NLP training, “We all create our own cage.”  That thought really stuck with me, as I realised that so much of my own suffering was caused by self-imposed restraints and unhelpful beliefs.

The concept of parts is also a radically different way of understand the human psyche. I had a conflict between a part that drives me and another that restrained me. By learning that those parts could respect each other and work together, my energy was preserved and I felt I could live with both happiness and productivity. Being able to share that realisation is why I teach NLP.
